Mālama ‘Āina
Giving back to the land that sustains us
At the heart of his fine art practice, Cody explores and documents the vanishing wilderness of the Hawaiian islands, preserving their natural beauty through visual arts. His work not only serves as visual therapy on the walls of commercial and residential interiors globally, but also contributes to hands-on restoration efforts of our native Hawaiian forests and endangered ecosystems. For every piece of art purchased, a native Hawaiian tree will be planted to help preserve and perpetuate the culture, land, and ecological resources that sustain us here in the islands.
“I’ve developed a great reverence for Hawaiian culture and their love and stewardship of these islands. I feel a natural sense of kuleana (responsibility) to honor, respect, and help malama (take care) of these places I’m privileged to create art with.”
