Hawaiʻi Panoramic Photography
Panoramic views are among the best-selling styles of fine art photography. These wide perspectives help fill large wall spaces and transform interiors. Cody’s collection of Hawaii panoramic photographs features beautiful sunsets, waves, mountains, and more from the islands of Maui, Kauaʻi, and Molokaʻi.
KAUAʻI, HAWAIʻI
Over five million years of tectonic shifts, volcanic eruptions, wind and water erosion, and vegetative growth patterns have endowed the ancient topological wonders of Hawaiʻi with a mysterious and almost ineffable beauty. Photographed from a private helicopter, this unique panoramic image reveals the entire Nā Pali Coast during a stunning, clear evening on the island of Kauaʻi.

At over 10,000 feet above the sea, Haleakalā Crater is unlike anywhere else on Earth. With its deeply sculpted, richly colored, and forever changing landscape, overlooking this place from the summit will leave you in awe. This long-exposure photograph reveals the dance of swirling clouds around the large volcanic cinder cones in the sunset twilight.

At Peʻahi, also known as Jaws, rogue waves collide with a unique underwater landscape that creates some of the biggest barrels in the world. From a private boat, I watched this marvelous surf break awaken in the early morning light as pulses of the Pacific surged into Maui’s north shore.

In the Hawaiian islands, wai (water) is our most precious resource. The Hawaiian word for wealth (waiwai) alludes not only to the physical presence of water, but also to the fertility, abundance, and prosperity it provides.

KAUAʻI, HAWAIʻI
A close friend brought me to a special beach on the north shore of Kauaʻi many years ago. From my first visit there, I knew I wanted to see this place from the air. I almost couldn’t believe how beautiful this scene was once I witnessed the valley behind the beach, illuminated by the setting sun. The lush valleys of Kauaʻi truly feel like the old Hawaiʻi. Undiverted rivers flow from the mountains to the ocean, feeding the loʻi (taro patches) that carry the legacy of Hawaiian culture. These environments symbolize the importance of keeping places like this wild.

Every winter, if we’re lucky, we’re blessed to witness the humbling magnitude of extreme surf on the northern shores of Hawaiʻi. My first time witnessing Jaws was the most memorable for me. Photographed from a private boat, “White Horses” is one of my best-selling images.

MOLOKAʻI, HAWAII
A glowing mist falls over the tallest sea cliffs in the World, cascading a waterfall into the ocean as sea birds fly overhead. This was photographed from a private boat along the north shore of Moloka’i. To get here before sunrise, my boat captain and I left the Maui harbor at 3:00am and traveled over 50 miles on the water. This place was so rich with life on a morning I will never forget.
