Vertical Fine Art Photography
Vertically oriented artwork is one of my favorite styles. Composing vertical photographs can be challenging in many cases, but when a specific wall in a home, office, or business requires a vertical piece, I feel they complement the space so well.
This collection features sunsets, waves, waterfalls, starry night skies, beautiful trees, mountains, and lava photographs from spectacular locations across the Hawaiian islands. Many images were captured from private helicopters, offering aerial views over some of the biggest waves in the world, Hawaii’s extraordinary topography, and the world’s largest volcano! Please enjoy this gallery of vertical photography from the islands of Hawaii.
KAUAʻI, HAWAIʻI
Hawaiian weather patterns are often dictated by the makani or wind. Some of our clearest days occur when the winds are calm, revealing the towering summits of the majestic mountains and the vibrant colors and depths of the ocean. Soaring above the north shore of Kauaʻi, I marveled at the peaks of Makua and the vivid coral reefs of Hāʻena on this pristine morning.

The untouched places on Earth are where I find the most creativity and inspiration. The prehistoric valleys of Kauaʻi draw me back time and time again to explore their unparalleled beauty. During a private helicopter flight, the setting sun illuminated this mountain, revealing a glimpse into its history of time and transformation. Seeing every ridge carved into its face from millions of years of erosion left me in awe in this divine moment.
